In keeping with Terrigal Bowling Club\u2019s strong commitment to the local community, the club has pledged vital funds towards the purchase of new foam boards for the Nippers program at Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club ahead of the upcoming start of season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For so many sporting Clubs across Australia, 2020 has proven an incredibly challenging year, and the need for surf life savers to continue doing their incredible work keeping our community safe on the beach is as important as ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Terrigal SLSC has continued to run their Nippers program in a COVID-safe manner, training up the next generation of surf life savers on the Central Coast. Terrigal SLSC\u2019s Under 8 and Under 13 Nippers will benefit from the donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club President, Kevin Porter is thankful for Terrigal Bowling Club\u2019s support and believes that this year has proven how amazing the local community is, even in difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTerrigal Surf Life Saving Nippers is a voluntary organisation which heavily relies on various skilled community volunteers, parent helpers and community donations in order to run successfully,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe surf club, and subsequently the Nippers, provide local families with an amazingly supportive social hub which has become more important than ever before. The support of organisations such as Terrigal Bowling Club allows us to continue to enhance and protect our families here on the Coast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith more people than ever before working from home, we have noticed an increase in beach visitors and so it is imperative that we train up the next generation of life savers in order to cope with the increase in numbers. Without donations such as this, we just wouldn\u2019t survive,\u201d Mr Porter concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Terrigal Bowling Club CEO, James Heddo was thrilled that despite the challenges of 2020 and a closure of clubs earlier in the year, the club can still support such worthy causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLast season saw 300 Nippers taking part in training at Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club and so we are honoured to be in a position to support so many youngsters with new equipment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf this year has taught us anything it is that the Terrigal community is resilient and continues to work collaboratively in a supportive manner. Both Terrigal Bowling Club and the Surf Life Saving Club have been at the heart of the community for so many years and we look forward to continuing our support for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
